Team taking a stroll in Akhil Sharma’s beautiful village Sehal near Baijnath, Himachal Pradesh

PulsePlay Digital’s team was invited by Akhil Sharma’s family close to the Baijnath temple. Akhil is a Graphic Designer at PulsePlay Digital, who hails from the beautiful town of Baijnath, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India. The team started the journey at around 11 in the morning and after covering a distance of approximately 50 km the team reached Akhil’s place, “Sehal” by 12:30 noon which is 2 km away from the main town and temple of Baijnath. Akhil’s family gave PulsePlay Digital’s team a warm welcome and after meeting everyone, the team visited Maa Ambika’s temple in the village.

The whole team went on a stroll with Akhil who showed us his beautiful village where he grew up. After coming back to Akhil’s home, we were treated with special “Khichdi” (rice, lentil, vegetable mixed delicacy) with different types of home-made pickles for lunch, which were fermented for more than two years. like mirchi wala (chillie pickle), aam ka (mango pickle), limbu ka (lemon pickle), curd, and to top it with homemade fresh pure desi ghee. It is a ritual in Himachal Pradesh to make Urad Dal Khichdi on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti.

The team also did not forget to keep a check on their work and thus, was working even on a holiday to achieve their goal of #HimalayasDigital. The team was treated with a special local delicacy called “Khatta”. Himachali people look forward to eating “Khatta” under the warmth of the sun as soon as winters arrive.

PulsePlay Digital Team seeking Baijnath Shivji’s Blessings in the Lap of Himalayas

After enjoying such a sumptuous meal at Akhil’s place, the team went to the very famous Baijnath temple. Built-in the 8th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vaidyanath- The Lord of Physicians. Set in the backdrop of the snow-clad Dhauladhars, the Himalayan mountain ranges, this temple is a place where one can attain serenity and peace. The team felt peaceful experiencing the magnificent beauty and energy of the Baijnath temple. The team prayed for everyone’s well-being, health and prosperity. After spending some peaceful time at the temple, the team headed back to Dharamshala.

Immersing ourselves into the villages and smaller towns of Bharat as a team gives us a sneak- peek into the lives and culture of our colleagues and Bharat in Tier III, IV, V geographies. We look forward to making more such beautiful memories with the team and their families.
